Dr. West is a board-certified plastic surgeon who has advanced fellowship training in aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body. He strongly believes in a personalized approach to patient care and in educating patients about their options so that they can be empowered to make the best decisions for themselves. Dr. West strives to provide exceptional, personalized care that helps you achieve your aesthetic goals.
Education and Training
As the son of a nurse and surgeon, Dr. West knew at a very young age that he would pursue a career in medicine. Dr. West received his Bachelor of Arts from Pomona College in Claremont, California, and his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He then interned in the surgical laboratory at the University of California, Irvine where he helped test new technologies for heart bypass surgery. During this time, he published journal articles in the fields of trauma and cardiac surgery.
He attended the prestigious six-year integrated residency program in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he trained under world-renowned surgeons in the fields of aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. After completing his residency, Dr. West pursued a subspecialty in aesthetic surgery at the distinguished Manhattan, Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital. While in New York, he gained extensive experience and studied advanced techniques in cosmetic surgery of the face and body under the direction of internationally recognized experts.
Notable Achievements
Dr. West has served as a mentor and instructor for plastic surgery residents from NYU and Cornell University. He has garnered international acclaim for his expertise in breast implant surgery and he eagerly shares of himself within his Orange County practice. His practice transcends mere procedure; it’s a journey he takes with each patient.
From the initial consultation, Dr. West exudes warmth and sincerity, ensuring every question is answered and every concern addressed. This white-glove approach extends through the entire process, with meticulous attention given to detail and a focus on comfort throughout recovery. His dedication allows patients to achieve not only their desired aesthetics, but also a newfound confidence that radiates from within.
Medical Mission Work
As a board member of the Mission Plasticos Foundation, Dr. Horowitz travels abroad several times a year to developing countries to perform much-needed reconstructive surgeries on children and underserved community members. He also trains local surgeons in these areas on modern reconstructive surgical techniques to help pass on his expertise.
